Antiviral innate immunity in Drosophila: a post-doctoral position is available to study antiviral innate immunity in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. The projects range from sensing of viral nucleic acids to signaling and effector antiviral mechanisms (http://ibmc-m3i.cnrs.fr/en/research-groups/antiviral-immunity/). They involve a comparative and evolutionary dimension with mammals, but also within insects. The position is for a period of two years and is available immediately.
The applicants must have expertise in one or two of the following areas: drosophila genetics; molecular virology; cellular fractionation and biochemistry; live cell imaging; RNA biology. The selected applicant will join a multinational team composed of fifteen people, hosted by the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (CNRS) on the central campus of the University of Strasbourg. Enquiries/applications should be made by e-mail in the form of a CV and the names and addresses of two references to Aude Petri (firstname.lastname@example.org).
